Every year in June, the preschool our children go to, organizes a fantastic Children’s– and Graduation show. In May the kids begin to learn their dances, usually two per class. Each year the performances are getting better and more complicated.
This year it is Jimmy, and Benny who are ready to move on to elementary school. They looked stunning in their graduation gown and cap.
The Children’s show had the theme Music, so each class presented a different style. Joshua jumped up and down on disco music, then Memey showed her moves on a retro song.
The audience was taken back to the 70-ties with Harry and his friends. Curly, coloured wigs, and sunglasses impressed everyone, but soon after it was time to get out our comb, and gel for a greasy look, watch out for Martin, and the Greased lightning!! Roby presented the African rhythm on drums, together with his class mates, and he stole the show with his solo- intermezzo in front of the microphone.
The hypnotizing beat took us over the African savannah, when suddenly we were awakened by the blazing sounds of screaming guitars. Benny came on stage in a super rock outfit, and a scarf around his head. K2B had arrived, and I love Rock and Roll blew everyone away. High time for some sophistication, aahhh there was Jimmy in his super cool jazzy ensemble. So handsome, a first-class charmer!
The Children’s show ended with three songs, sung all the children, and that always brings a little tear in my eyes. It is then, that I feel what the kids have achieved, how far they have come, and the big responsibility, to bring them further again.
After a very nice lunch with a buffet, where I had to collect full plates for 11 persons (how does one do it?), the Graduation ceremony began.
Seeing Jimmy and Benny with the diploma in their hands I felt so proud! After Risky, Lisa, and Emily they are about to go the big school now, and I am sure they will succeed! Well done boys! Off you go to a new milestone in your life!
