Happy new year!

Happy new year!!!

Where to begin?

Do you recognize it? You know you have to do something important, but you just can not put your mind to it. Endless excuses only not to have to sit and do the job. That’s how I feel at the moment. After preparing all Christmas festivities for the children I am tired. There is quite a list of ‘things to do’ that come with the beginning of the new year, and the more I think about it, the more I find other (less important) things to do.

There is the annual year report to write, which means taking out all the receipts I kept in the special finance folder, the bank statements, and turn that in an orderly, clear financial report. For the section ’Looking back at 2015’ I like to look at our Facebook page. I re-live all the events that have passed, and enjoy picking the most memorable ones, to share with the readers. The last page is always a long list of the people I owe a big thanks to. Our sponsors! Where would we be without them, without their support? I still think it is just amazing; someone comes here, they have a look at the place, the kids, and like what they see. Then support us in the most generous way, fantastic! I must finish it soon.

I have to make an appointment with the dentist for the children, who didn’t have their check up just before Christmas last year, and I have to make an appointment for a check up with the eye doctor for Benny.

Also have to hand out the new contracts to staff, and finalize their evaluation reports. In addition, I must finish the developmental reports for the children. I write such a report twice per year, just to keep track of the children’s development. This way each child has a written document of their history, which they can read when they are grown up.

But as it goes, when I want to make a start with all of this there is always the inevitable:”Mommm, can you come here for a moment? ” or “Ibuuu, there is someone here to see you”. By the time the visitors are gone, and the kids are asleep, the evening has already come, there is a soothing silence that sends me off to sleep instead of to my computer.

Basically I think it is all part of this fun-crazy and so full-filling task I put on my plate. Have to get some rest now and then, to recharge the battery. To find the time for that is the real challenge. Rest a bit, look from a distance at where I stand, and see if I am still on the right track that leads to my goals. So first I have to take a short break to recover from the Christmas-holiday!  Do you recognize it??
